CUDDAPAH: An APSP constable, Prasanna Raju, allegedly shot dead his colleague, C. Venkateswara Raju (26), in the APSP XI Battalion at Bhakrapet in Siddhavatam mandal and later attempted suicide by jumping from the administrative office on the campus on Tuesday evening. According to the police, Prasanna Raju, who was on sentry duty on Monday, allegedly fired at Venkateswara Raju, a telephone orderly, after an argument over their shooting skills. The police took Prasanna Raju into custody. A case under Section 302 IPC was registered against him.
Jumps from office
Later Prasanna Raju, who sought permission to make a phone call, suddenly jumped from the administrative office. He sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Cuddapah Government Hospital. The Siddavatham police booked an attempt-to-suicide case against Prasanna Raju.
