Two policemen injured in naxal attack

VIZIANAGARAM:
Suspected CPI (Maoists) opened fire on the reserve inspector of Fifth APSP Battallion, Durga Raj, and Head constable, D.V. Ramana Rao, at Tummika Manuguda village in Kurupam mandal on Tuesday afternoon.
Both the police personnel reportedly suffered bullet injuries on their legs. According to police sources, the reserve inspector, the head constable and the constable, M. Nagabhushanam, were on their way to Mondemkal on a motorcycle when Maoists, dressed like villagers, suddenly opened fire on them.
One bullet hit the RI in his leg and the other hit the Head constable in his thigh. Mr. Ramana Rao was riding the vehicle. Their condition is stated to be out of danger.
