BHOPAL: The former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Uma Bharti, today broke her silence and said that she would be the last person to work against the interests of Bharatiya Janata Party or think in terms of destabilising the Babulal Gaur- led BJP Government in Madhya Pradesh. Ms. Bharti was addressing the media at Amarkantaka, the famous holy place where the Narmada originates in eastern Madhya Pradesh. She said that she was among the few BJP leaders who had worked ceaselessly since 1984 to bring their party to its present position of dominance in national politics and hence she could never think of harming the party. Instead she would stick to her main objective, which was to destroy the Congress and the Communist parties, she asserted. Ms. Bharti further said that she would like to give the assurance to the State Chief Minister and the State BJP chief, Kailash Joshi, that they would continue to get her full support and cooperation. More specifically, she said that Mr. Gaur should not make any statement that can embarrass the party. She further said that it was her Guru Sri Vishweshwar Teerth of Udipi, who had allowed her to enter politics when she had taken "Sanyas". When her Guru reaches Amarkantaka on Thursday, she would once more seek his permission to continue in politics , Ms. Bharti said. In the meanwhile, it was being speculated in political circles here that there would be a show of strength at Amarkantaka on April 21 as a large number of Uma Bharti supporters would be gathering there to express solidarity with her on April 21.
