Legal aid

The Office of the Commissioner for Disabilities and the Alternative Law Forum are offering free legal services to the disabled at the Commissioner's office at No. 40, Thambuchetty Road, Cox Town, on Wednesdays between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Those interested can dial 25482639 or 25482641.

Dental check-up

The P.D. Hinduja Sindhi Hospital will organise a free specialist dental check-up camp from April 25 to 30 at its premises in Sampangiramnagar. More information is available on phone (22237117 or 22237318).

Office-bearers elected

District Judge H.M. Bharathesh has been elected president of the Karnataka State Judicial Officers' Association for 2005-06. The other elected members are: District Judge A.L. Pujar, vice-president; Civil Judge K.S. Beelagi, general secretary; Civil Judge Dinesh Hegde, joint secretary; and Civil Judge H.S. Hosagowdar, treasurer.

Meditation programme

The Institute of Sri Ramachandra Consciousness has organised a free training programme on pranahuti-aided meditation on Saturday and Sunday at its Indiranagar centre. Those in the age group of 20 to 50 years can participate. For registrations, dial 51119496.

Hostel for the disabled

The Karnataka State Human Rights Trust has a free hostel for physically challenged schoolchildren and college students up to the degree classes. Those interested can write to the trust (Post Box No. 7661, Bangalore - 560076) or contact in on phone (9343795738).
