BANGALORE: N.S. Negi, Deputy Director General and Head of Pioneer Corps, on Tuesday announced a change in the corps badge. Addressing a special Sainik Sammelan held at Pioneer Corps Training Centre here, Brigadier Negi said the new badge depicts "the functioning of the Pioneer Corps keeping in view the rich and glorious heritage as also the tasks undertaken by the corps in the present day environment," according to a press release from the Press Information Bureau (Defence Wing). Brigadier Negi said there is a proposal to increase the number of Pioneer companies to 26 from 16.
