Nalco profit rises
The Centre-owned National Aluminium Company (Nalco) posted the highest ever net profit of Rs. 1,222.43 crores during fiscal 2004-05, a growth of 66 per cent over the previous year's profit of Rs. 737.37 crores.
According to the unaudited results of 2004-05 presented before the Nalco board of directors here on Thursday, the company achieved an all-time record sales turnover of Rs. 4,437.97 crores, 33 per cent more than Rs. 3,348.57 crores previously. Nalco's exports during the year crossed Rs. 2,200 crores, as compared to Rs. 1,717 crores in the previous year.
