IDSA's turnover up 30 p.c.
BANGALORE:
Indian Direct Selling Association (IDSA) has announced a turnover of Rs. 1,381 crores for 2004 among member companies. It has recorded a growth of more than 30 per cent with 7.80 lakh women in direct selling. According to the Chairman, Manoj Shirodkar, IDSA, the turnover of the industry stood at Rs. 2,400 crores of which IDSA member companies recorded Rs. 1,381 crores. The insurance alone accounted for Rs. 255 crores in 2004 reporting a 30 per cent growth. The balance turnover from the non-IDSA companies was approximately Rs. 1,064 crores.
IDSA hopes to achieve 10 times the present growth in a period of ten years. Direct selling has now reached 2,200 towns and 50 cities.
