Kottayam in boys' quarterfinals

KOLLAM: The quarterfinalist have been spotted in boys' section in the 29th Junior State basketball championship at the QAC floodlit court here on Thursday.

Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur and Pathanamthitta made grade from pool `A' while Kannur and Kottayam qualified from pool `B'.

Alappuzha and Malappuram made it from pool `C' and `D' respectively.

Pool `A': Thrissur 51 (Eudrick Perera 10, Tony 8, Ajith Antony 8) bt Idukki 8; Pathanamthitta 63 (Prajith Prabhakar 14, Anu Mohan Das 10) bt Thrissur 51 (Jovin P. Vincent 18, Eudrick Perera 13)

Pool `B': Kannur 43 (Nikhil 16, Saji Mathew 9) bt Kozhikode 9.

Pool `C': Alappuzha 49 (Thomas Joseph 17, K.V. Rahul 14) bt Palakkad 16 (Anish 8);

Kasargod 32 (K.Nikhil 10, C.V. Rakesh 9) bt Wayanad 20 (K.V.Aneesh 8); Alappuzha 56 (Rahul Krishnan 23) bt Kasargod 26 (R.Nikhil 11).

Pool `D': Malappuram 46 (R.T. Vishnu 10) bt Wayand 19; Malappuram 52 (P.Vishnu 13, P.B.Venkitesh 10, Amal James 9) bt Ernakulam 35 (Mathai George 10, Eby 9).

Girls: Pool `A': Kannur 39 (M. Lija 12, Ranjusha Mathew 10) bt Wayanad 8.
