Congress condemns attack

Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI: : The Congress on Thursday condemned the attack on the Railway Minister, Lalu Yadav, during his official visit to Gujarat to oversee train accident relief work, and demanded an inquiry into the episode.

"It is not for the first time that the naked face of communal and fascist forces has raised its ugly head,'' the party general secretary, Ambika Soni and Ahmed Patel, political secretary to the Congress president, said in a joint statement.

While condemning the incident, the leaders said the Government should institute an inquiry into the attack.
