VISAKHAPATNAM: Top seed L. Durga Prasad of SCR, Rajahmundry, moved into the final of the State ranking billiards tournament in Kakinada, defeating team-mate R.S. Prasad, 635-292 on Thursday. In the quarterfinals he accounted for Lucky Vatnani (APBSA) 478-374. Sixth-seeded John Bosco of APBSA edged out second-seeded I.V. Rajeev of Literary Association, Kakinada, 342-339. In another upset, eight seed R.S. Prasad eliminated fourth seed, K. Vijay Kumar (APBSA) 361-94. Third seed K.S. Rao beat seventh seed S. Praveen (APBSA) 535-285. In snooker, top seed, S. Sankar of LVR and Sons Club, Guntur prevailed over S. Praveen 4-3 to make the semifinals. Aravind (Hyderabad) beat Hemanth Kumar (APBSA) 4-1.
