CHANDIGARH: The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) decided on Thursday to not contest the Hisar and Tosham by-elections in Haryana in case the Congress fielded the family members of the two Ministers, O.P.Jindal and Surender Singh, who lost their lives on March 31 in a helicopter crash in Western Uttar Pradesh. Addressing a press conference here today, Ajay Singh Chautala, Rajya Sabha MP and son of the former Chief Minister, Om Parkash Chautala, said that the INLD would field a candidate for the Kiloi Assembly constitution from where the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, presently a Lok Sabha MP, is likely to seek election to the State Assembly. Mr.Chautala refused to comment on the performance of the new Congress Government headed by Mr.Hooda saying that the "honeymoon was still on.'' He remarked that the INLD would watch the performance of the Congress regime for six months and extend issue-based support to ``good'' decisions. However, the President of the Haryana unit of the INLD, Ashok Arora, criticised the Centre for announcing a paltry increase in the Minimum Support Price of crops. He also flayed the Hooda Government for not taking any action on the Sutlej Yamuna Canal front. On the CBI raids conducted recently in connection with the JBT teachers' scam, Mr.Chautala said that nothing "incriminating'' had been recovered. He added that the cash recovered from their premises "was accounted for.'' He welcomed the CBI enquiry into the case and said that the truth should be out.
Land records to be computerised
All the land records in Haryana would be computerised and revenue and registration administration streamlined to bring transparency in their working and save the people from harassment and delays, according to the Revenue Minister, Ajay Singh Yadav. He handed over documents related to land records computerisation of Madhya Pradesh to the Director, Land Record to study and take further necessary action. He also directed the officers to study the Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh pattern also. He also directed that the registered deeds be issued to the public on the same day or latest by the next day and no document should be registered after the office hours to check corruption in the department.
No registration fee on tractors
