HYDERABAD: The Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde, on Thursday greeted the Muslim community on the eve of Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed. He said the divine message of the Prophet had timeless significance for the entire humanity. His life reflected his teachings. His emphasis on love, compassion, sacrifice and equality was relevant even today. The Chief Minister, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, also greeted Muslims. In a message, he said Prophet Mohammed symbolised in him the qualities of patience, perseverance, tolerance, love and universal brotherhood and hoped these qualities would help in making peace and goodwill prevail in society. He also extended greetings to Jains on the eve of Mahavir Jayanthi. Dr. Reddy said Bhagavan Mahavir was epitome of peace who preached humanitarian values. He exhorted people from all walks of life to inculcate the noble values upheld by Mahavir and help promote peace and stability in society.
