This Day That Age
Under the auspices of the Sri Venkateswara Oriental Institute, Tirupati, the celebration of the seventh Annamacharya festival began on April 19 with a procession of the picture of Lord Venkateswara, along with the copper plates embossed with the images of Annamacharya on them, to the specially erected pandal with all temple honours. Mr. P.V. Ramanujaswamy, Director of the Institute, presented a report on the festival held last year. He said Thallappaka Annamacharya was a great composer and devotee of Lord Venkateswara and was honoured and respected by all. Mr. C. Anna Rao, Executive Officer, TTD, distributed prizes to the winners in the competition.
