This Day That Age
The Madras Government have decided that in respect of the poems of the late Subramania Bharathi, the entire right of their use, vested in the Government under the Indian Copyright Act, should be released to the public, subject to the restriction that, in so publishing them, the public should adhere to the authorised version of these poems published by the Government. The Government have also waived the recovery of royalty from the gramophone companies, which have with them stocks of unsold gramophone records on which the poems of Bharathi have been recorded previously. Pending further orders, the collection of royalty in respect of the prose works of the poet will be continued.
