PALAKKAD: The former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Muraleedharan has said that the new `set-up' that will come into existence on May 1 will go for an alliance with the Left Democratic Front (LDF) in the forthcoming local body elections in the State. Mr. Muraleedharan told mediapersons after the meeting of the `I' group leaders here on Thursday that the new set-up would come into existence on May 1. He said he had not held talks with the CPI(M) State secretary, Pinarayi Vijayan, on the formation of the new set-up.
Poser to CPI(M)
Staff Reporter adds from Kochi: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee vice-president, A.C. Jose, has sought a clarification from the CPI(M) whether its invitation to the `I' faction to oppose the Oommen Chandy Government was part of the decision taken at the Delhi congress of the party. Terming the invitation by the Leader of the Opposition, V.S. Achuthanandan, to the `I' group as unethical, Mr. Jose also wanted the CPI(M) to clarify whether the support was for sabotaging the Ministry alone or it would continue in the upcoming elections.
