CHENNAI: : In view of the increasing summer rush, Southern Railway is operating more summer specials to Nagercoil and Madurai from Chennai. Train 0611 Chennai Egmore - Nagercoil weekly special will leave Egmore at 8.30 p.m. on all Wednesdays from April 27 to June 15 and reach Nagercoil at 12.30 p.m. the next day. In the return direction, train 0612 will leave Nagercoil at 3.30 p.m. on all Thursdays from April 28 to June 16 and arrive Egmore at 7.30 a.m. the next day. Train 0615 Chennai Egmore - Madurai special will leave Egmore at 11 p.m. on all Mondays from May 2 to June 20 and reach Madurai at 8.30 a.m. the next day. In the return direction it will leave Madurai at 7.15 p.m. on all Sundays from May 1 to June 19 and arrive Egmore at 6.30 a.m. the next day. Train 0623 Chennai Central - Coimbatore special will leave Central at 8.45 p.m. on April 27 and reach Coimbatore at 5.30 a.m. the next day. Reservation will commence on Friday. In connection with the Chitra Pournami festival at Melmaruvathur, special gauge trains will be operated between Tambaram and Melmaruvathur from April 23 to 25. It will leave Tambaram at 9.40 a.m. and reach Melmaruvathur at 11.30 am. In the return, it will leave Melmaruvathur at 2 p.m. and arrive Tambaram at 3.50 p.m., says a release.
