MADURAI: : The Melavalu police arrested one Narikutti (30) on charge of hacking his wife, Rajeswari (25), and one of his neighbours, Chinnakalai (45), at his residence in Kesampatti near here on Thursday. The police said that the couple used to quarrel frequently over domestic issues. Following a wordy duel, Narikutti had beaten up his wife in the morning. When Chinnakalai tried to intervene, he hacked both of them to death. Narikutti also sustained injuries as the villagers assaulted him with clubs.
