VIJAYAWADA: A delegation of State Teachers' Union, Andhra Pradesh, headed by its president, I. Rajendra Babu, and general secretary, Ch. Durga Rao, on Thursday, met the Commissioner of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, V. Usharani, and handed over a memorandum of their demands. The union wanted the Commissioner to positively consider mutual transfer of teachers who had been at the same place for the past 18 years and those who sought transfer on a personal request. They also demanded an immediate solution to delay being caused in promotions and pay fixation to all cadres who got promotion during 2004-05.
