Illegal water connections detected in Surampatty

ERODE:
: A team led by the Surampatty municipal chairman, S. M. C. Shanmugam, detected illegal water connections in the municipal limits.
Daily 60 lakh litres of water is pumped from the river Cauvery to Surampatty municipality and Periya Agraharam panchayat. But, there were complaints of water shortage.
Following this, surprise raids were conducted in various places. It was found that in Papathykadu area, water was being diverted to a house. Similar illegal connections were also detected in some other houses also.
