"Agriculture Talent Search Mela''

NEW DELHI : A two-day "Agriculture Talent Search and Job Mela" began at the Pusa campus here on Friday. The event was inaugurated by the Chairman of the Agriculture Scientists Recruitment Board, C.D. Mayee. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mayee said the agriculture sector was facing many challenges and added that job innovation and upgradation of skills were of prime importance.

A number of companies like Tata Chemicals, Godrej Agrovet, P.I. Industries, Hindustan Pulverizing Mills and Fungicide India are some of the companies participating in the event.

New campus

NEW DELHI : The new campus of Amity International School was inaugurated at Vasundhra in neighbouring Ghaziabad on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, the chairperson of School, Amita Chauhan, said the institute would be run in the true spirit of Amity's philosophy of modernity blending with tradition. Besides an auditorium and math and science laboratories, the school will provide various sporting facilities.

DAC awards

NEW DELHI : The Delhi Advertising Club (DAC) is organising "Awards for Excellence in Advertising 2004" at Hotel Ashok here on April 25.

The DAC will also confer awards like "Agency of the Year", "Campaign of the Year", "Best Copywriter" and "Best Creative Director".

The marathon judging sessions have been completed by 30 creative directors of leading advertising agencies of the country and the award ceremony will be attended by advertising professionals.

Fire Service Week

NEW DELHI: The Fire Service Week organised to create awareness about fire-fighting operations among employees of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here ended on Wednesday. It was organised by the fire services department of the Airports Authority of India.

About 400 officers and staff of various agencies working at IGI Airport were trained in fire-fighting operations. Live demonstrations and operation of various fire extinguishers were conducted in different parts of the airport. A 17-member cabin crew of Jet Airways was trained to use portable fire extinguishers in case of emergency.

Banners with fire fighting slogans were displayed at strategic locations of the airport and a film on fire-fighting was also screened.

New CAT team

NEW DELHI : Advocate A K Behera was today declared elected for the post of president of Bar Association of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), Principal Bench here for the year 2005-06. Yogesh Shamra and Surinder Singh were elected for the two posts of vice-presidents and Ajesh Luthra was declared winner for the post of secretary.
