KOCHI: Hundreds of people from Vypeen laid siege to the Goshree bridges here on Friday in protest against the "failure of the authorities in solving the acute water scarcity in the area." The CPI(M) central committee member M.C. Josephine inaugurated the protest. She criticised the Government for not allocating funds for completing the Chowara drinking water project. The Government should use the money received from the sale of land near Goshree islands for resolving the problem of shortage of drinking water. The islanders would strengthen their agitation in the coming days.
