Doctors strike work

Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The State-wide hour-long strike by doctors in the government health service on Saturday was total in Thiruvananthapuram district, a statement issued by Kerala Government Medical Officers' Association (KGMOA) said.

Casualty services in government hospitals had been exempted from the strike. The doctors were demanding that the government refix the norms for private practice and that doctors in service be given adequate consideration in admissions to post graduate level.

The Association will intensify the agitation if the Government does not consider its demands.
