PONDICHERRY: The depositors of the PNL Nidhi Limited will observe a fast in front of the Assembly here on Monday to urge the Government to take steps for speedy return of their deposits and jewels. Addressing newsmen here on Saturday, G. Govindasamy, president, Association of Depositors of Private Financial Establishments, and A. Gandhiraj, honorary president, said 13,000 depositors were left in the lurch as the management of the 17-year-old company defaulted on paying back the deposits, which matured several months ago. With the banking operation in the company having come to a close all of a sudden in July last, the depositors did not know how to get back their money. The company had Rs. 70 crores in fixed deposits.
