Tension over disfigurement of statue

KURNOOL:
Tension prevailed at Kodumur, 30 km from here, as the Dhone MLA, Kotla Sujathamma, and hundreds of people staged a protest against the disfigurement of Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy's statue on Sunday.
According to reports, a mentally challenged person allegedly tried to disfigure the statue of the former Chief Minister at the main centre of the town on Saturday night.
The police took into custody Ramanjaneyulu, who allegedly hurled stones at the statue causing cracks in it.
As news spread, Sujathamma, daughter-in-law of Vijayabhaskar Reddy, and some followers staged protest for over two hours. They demanded high-level probe into the incident.
