Polytechnic lecturers' selection soon

Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM: The selection process for 200 polytechnic lecturers and 106 junior lecturers will be announced soon, according to the senior member of Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, C. Chandra Sekhar. Only after receiving clearance from the Finance Department, they were issuing notification for various posts, he told reporters on Sunday.

Admitting that posts had been lying vacant for several years in various departments, he said though 150 posts of forest range officer had been lying vacant for last 12 years, they got the clearance from the Finance Department to recruit 86 posts only some time ago.

While filling the posts, the Commission would strictly follow the roster points and zonal reservations, he added.

He said the APPSC has taken the lead in the country in implementing reforms in recruitment process.

Transparency

"To ensure transparency and rule out scope for criticism, we have introduced optical marks reading (OMR) sheets and announcing of marks secured by the candidates immediately after the interview," he told reporters on Sunday.
