Nadal enters final

BARCELONA: Rafael Nadal will meet Juan Carlos Ferrero in an all-Spanish Open Seat Godo final. Nadal powered past Radek Stepanek, 7-5, 6-2 in Saturday's semifinals.

In the doubles semifinals, Leander Paes and Nenad Zimonjic defeated the pair of Aspelin and Perry 6-3, 6-4 to make the final.

Cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd, Nadal dropped only two points on serve in the first set. The Open Seat Godo is the fifth final that the 18-year-old Nadal has reached this season. Nadal used some acrobatic tennis to reply to the Czech Republic player's best attempts at passing shots in the first set, forcing Stepanek to rely heavily on his serve.

At 4-5 in the first set, Nadal again hit his stride and took three games in a row to win the set. — Agencies
