CHENNAI: Now you can watch the latest releases from the comfort of your home, not on pirated CDs but on the Internet. If you have a computer at home then key in www.lankasri.com/livemo and you have Sachein, Mumbai Express and Chandramukhi on your screen, at no expense.

Chandramukhi comes in 10 compact discs, while the other two new releases are two CDs long, according to this site.

Another site, www.putfile.com/media.php?n=Dragonz-PRS.com_Chandramukhi, offered the film as 15 files that could be downloaded and copied as CDs to be viewed at leisure. This site, however, removed the film on Sunday afternoon (IST). Two Chennai viewers who chanced on these sites and viewed Chandramukhi on Friday night said the audio and video quality of the film were good.

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police have seized 1,860 pirated copies of Tamil movies released on Tamil New Year day and arrested nine persons, during raids conducted in the last two days.

Police said during the raid conducted in Padi area on Friday, they seized 107 copies of recently-released Tamil movies including Chandramukhi and Mumbai Xpress along with a CD writer unit.

Six persons were arrested and they were identified as Rajesh (25), Sathish (25), Jijo (30), Chandra Mohan (25), Raja (36) and another Rajesh (26).

In the raid conducted on Saturday in Ambattur, the CCB police arrested three persons and seized 1753 pirated VCDs.

At Ambattur alone VCDs, CD writers and pirated copies of Tamil movies totally valued at Rs 1.75 lakhs were seized, police added.
