Reduce burden on students

Sir, — The attitude of the managements of various coaching-cum-education centres in the twin cities towards Intermediate students is deplorable. To attend classes sharply at 5.30 a.m., the students have to wake up at 3.30 am to reach the institutes which are far off from the city. The college managements and the State Government should address this issue.

Traffic islands add to chaos

Sir, — The huge traffic islands in the city do not help in mitigating traffic problems. The one near Nirankari Bhavan near MCH or the other at Lakdikapul obstruct free flow of traffic. The authorities should demolish them and construct smaller ones.

Shifting of bus stop unwarranted

Sir, — The shifting of Kharkana bus stop beyond Satyam Computers based on a complaint from a school that it is causing traffic jams is deplorable. ICICI bank is also located in a building without cellar facility and vehicles are parked on the main road and obstruct vehicular movement. Hence it is requested to restore the present bus stop immediately.
