VISAKHAPATNAM: The police are bracing themselves for tomorrow's bandh called by the CPI (Maoist) against the encounter at Gunukurayi in G.K. Veedhi mandal on April 17. Four naxalites were killed in the encounter. The bandh will be observed in Visakhapatnam and East Godavari districts.
Stress on agency areas
Police forces have been sent to all parts of the district, particularly the agency areas. There were cases like exchange of fire and blasting of a culvert after the Gunukurayi encounter. Conductors and drivers of some RTC buses plying on the agency routes were warned by Maoists not to run buses on Monday.
