VIJAYAWADA: The Chief Executive Officer of Prasar Bharati, K.S. Sarma, has said that agricultural programmes specific to clusters like Vijayawada and other areas will be shown on the Doordarshan's regional satellite, Saptagiri soon. It has become necessary with these agricultural programmes not reaching a majority of people as their cable operators do not show DD programmes during prime time. The reach of these programmes is much less in Vijayawada and surroundings areas, which are known for greater cable penetration when compared to different parts of the country. The Government of India had sanctioned Rs. 311 crores for developing and telecasting agriculture programmes.
