Medical camp inaugurated

The regional president of the Andhra Pradesh Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association, M. Rama Rao, on Sunday, inaugurated a free medical camp at Jhansi Lakshmi Hospital in Kankipadu. A team of doctors from the nursing home examined over 1,000 patients and distributed medicines free of cost to the needy. They referred 25 patients suffering from poor vision to the Lions Hospital for eye operations. Dr. Rao lauded the doctors for serving the poor people.-Staff Reporter

Druggists' appeal

The general secretary of the Krishna District Chemists and Druggists Association, P.S. Patnaik, on Sunday, appealed to the drug control authorities to keep a tab on the sale of medicines. In a press release here, Mr. Patnaik said that some of the traders did not enter the new Value Added Tax (VAT) regime. The officials should monitor the trade and prevent black-market, he said.-Staff Reporter

`Annadanam'

on April 26

As part of `Srirama Navami' celebrations, the city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will conduct `Annadanam' at Ravichettu centre in Moghalrajapuram on April 26. Lunch will be offered to over 2,000 people on the occasion, according to the party divisional president, M. Venkateswara Rao.
