TDP seeks dismissal of Ponnala

HYDERABAD:
The Telugu Desam has demanded dismissal of the Major Irrigation Minister, Ponnala Laxmaiah, following the detection of recent cases of the State Government hiving off irrigation land to private parties on lease.
The Government had in two cases decided to allot prime land without the consent of the Cabinet in East Godavari and Krishna districts. The orders were subsequently suspended, the TDP leader, S. Venugopalachari, told reporters here on Sunday.
Referring to `Rytu chaitanya yatras' from Monday, Mr. Venugopalachary said it was another publicity stunt of the Agriculture Minister, N. Raghuveera Reddy.
