Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
Tension prevailed in Kachiguda police station area when miscreants pelted stones on a religious procession being taken out from Nehrunagar to Kachiguda Kamela late on Sunday night.
Trouble began when members of a community raised objection over taking out the procession through their area. As arguments continued, unidentified persons began to hurl stones at the procession leading to tension. An irate mob damaged a car and a bus parked on the roadside by breaking its windscreens.
Additional forces were pressed into service to check the violence.
The East Zone DCP, K.V.R.N. Reddy and city night duty officer, Ashok Kumar, rushed to the spot and took stock of the situation.
