No coordination between fishermen, officials

ONGOLE: Rehabilitation of the tsunami-hit families has been literally bogged down due to lack of coordination between the fishermen and officials. The fishermen complain that the traders are jacking up the price of nets and manufacturers are quoting higher rates for the repair of fibre-reinforced plastic (FRP) boats, as the officials are allegedly demanding 20-30 per cent as bribe.

However, officials deny the charge and contend that the traders are quoting a higher price because they had to pay taxes when the transaction is made through the Government
