Girls outshine boys in Inter exam

HYDERABAD: Girls continued their dominance in the Intermediate second year examinations this year too registering a pass percentage of 56.06 per cent as against 51 per cent among boys. The overall pass percentage among the regular candidates registered a slight dip from last year's 53.31 per cent, but nevertheless stood impressive at 53.14 per cent.

The Minister for Higher Education, Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao released the results here on Monday. As many as 7,30,800 candidates, both regular and private, appeared for the examination held in March this year.

Of the 5,41,120 regular candidates who appeared for the examination, 2,87,542 candidates passed, a maximum number of them in the first division.
