Seminar on `Independence struggle'

ALAPPUZHA: The Alappuzha District Congress Committee (DCC) will organise a seminar on the `Indian National Independence Struggle' at Alappuzha Government Girls' High School Auditorium on April 30, said C.R. Jayaprakash, the DCC president.

Mr. Jayaprakash said the Finance Minister, Vakkom Purushothaman, would inaugurate the seminar at 3 p.m. Mr. Jayaprakash would preside over the programme. The Vice-Chancellor of Sree Sanakara University, Kalady, K.S. Radhakrishnan will present the paper.

T.P. Sankarankutty Nair, Head of the History Department of Kerala University, M.R. Thampan, and Kodikkunnil Suresh, KPCC secretary, among others will participate in the seminar.

The Minister for Tourism, K.C. Venugopal will deliver the concluding speech. The DCC president said that the seminar was being organised as part of the programmes being conducted by the KPCC on the occasion of 75th anniversary of the Dandi march.
