TIRUMALA: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams' chairman, T. Mr Subbirami Reddy, who carried out surprise inspection for the second day today, visited several cottages, free choultries and the massive Vaikuntam queue complexes and expressed satisfaction over the upkeep and the arrangements being made for the benefit of the visiting pilgrims.
TV sets
Later talking to mediapersons, Mr Reddy said that plasma colour TV sets would be set up in all the compartments in both the queue complexes for the benefit of the devotees and the temple rituals and functions being performed inside the temple would be telecast live on the sets.
He said that the TTD would also make efforts to secure the copies of various mythological stories being aired by several television channels and telecast them at the queue complexes.
When the sailing was smooth, the absence of duty doctors at the second queue complex irritated the chairman.
He also asked the Special Officer, A.V. Dharma Reddy, to initiate action against the vendors selling food items at abnormally high rates. Later, Mr Reddy also inaugurated the online telephone revenue counter set up in the premises of the local telegraph office.
