ERODE: For the last 20 days, a village in Perundurai is facing acute water scarcity because of non-supply. The 500-odd Adidravida residents of Pattakaranpalayam village were getting Cauvery water through a comprehensive water supply scheme. The village was provided with bore well water too. Because of low flow of water in the Cauvery River, only bore well water was being supplied. Some 20 days back, the motor of the bore wells was being repaired and pumping was stopped. Though the villagers made several representations to the panchayat officials nothing has been done. The villagers are now collecting water from the nearby villages.
