Staff Reporter PONDICHERRY: : The Pondicherry Government has taken steps to set up a Special Economic Zone and a port here. The projects will help generate employment, the Health and Labour Minister, E. Valsaraj, has said. He was launching the website of the Pondicherry chapter of the National Institute of Personnel Management and installing the office-bearers here on Monday. Professionals and professional institutions should do more for the progress of the Union Territory, he urged. The institute secretary, K. Victor, presented the annual report. The chairman, B. Ajith Kumar, said the institute would establish an award for young managers and management students of human resources stream. It would also set up committees on industrial relations and labour law reforms to make recommendations to the Government and other institutions.
