NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Tuesday issued notice to the 11 co-accused in the attempt-to-murder case against the Rashtriya Janata Dal leader and Union Minister, Mohammed Taslimuddin, following the Bihar Government's decision to withdraw the case. The court also sought their response to the plea for shifting the trial outside Bihar. On a petition filed by the Delhi Study Centre, the court had stayed all further proceedings pursuant to an application filed by the Public Prosecutor before the Judicial Magistrate of Araria, Bihar, seeking withdrawal of the case pending against Mr. Taslimuddin. A Bench, comprising Justice N. Santosh Hegde and Justice S.B. Sinha, issued notice to the co-accused. The Bench had earlier taken a serious view of the ``mortal hurry'' exhibited by the Bihar Government and the Public Prosecutor in seeking to withdraw the case registered in 1996.
