CM announces solatium to jawan's family

CHENNAI: Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Tuesday announced a solatium of Rs. 5 lakhs to the family of C. Mariadoss, an Army jawan belonging to Tiruvannamalai district. Mariadoss died on Saturday last in an encounter with extremists in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir. He was attached to the mechanical unit of the Army.

The Chief Minister also conveyed her condolences to the family, says an official release.
