Beagles' boys and girls in last eight

BANGALORE: Beagles boys and girls entered the quarterfinal stage of the Karnataka State Basketball Association conducted State junior (under-18) basketball championship at the Sree Kanteerava outdoor stadium here. While the Beagles boys outclassed Bellary's YCBC 60-38 its girls trounced Ambedkar SC 51-5.

Sports Hostel (Bangalore) switched gears in the third and fourth quarters to inflict a 58-30 defeat on Southern Blues, after changing ends with a 21-15 advantage, in a boys' match.

The results: Boys: SAI, Dharwad 54 (Javed Akthar 17, Naveen Prakash 13) bt Vivekananda (Mandya) 21; Beagles 60 (Puneeth 19) bt YCBC (Bellary) 38 (Mohd Kalam 14, Gururaj 11, Kiran 10); JSC 43 (Chari 12) bt Vidyaranyapura SC 28 (Madhu 20); Sports Hostel (Bangalore) 58 (Rabbani 20, Shyam 10) bt Southern Blues 30 (Sudheera 11).

Girls: Beagles 51 (Sindhu 12) bt Ambedkar SC 5; Vivek's 49 (Reeth 11) bt Rangers (Mysore) 19; JSC 33 (Athya Anjum 14) bt Mounts Club 13.
