6 killed in road accidents

KANCHEEPURAM:
Six persons were killed in three different road accidents in Kancheepuram district on Monday.
The police said Palani (40) and his sister, Ellammal (45) of Sothupakkam, travelling on a bicycle on G.S.T. Road at Melmaruvathur were fatally knocked down by a private bus around 7 p.m. on Monday. The Melmaruvathur police have registered a case and are investigating.
In another accident on the East Coast Road around 3 p.m., two persons died on the spot after their motorcycle collided with a car at the Chekanamkuppam Bridge near Koovathur. Earlier in the day , Venkatesan (35) of Sriperumpudur and his wife, Malliga (30), was going towards Irunkattukottai on a motorcycle, when it was hit by a light commercial vehicle near Karanthangal junction on the Chennai-Bangalore Highway.
