High Court issues vacation schedule

Judges to start holiday sittings from May 1

CHENNAI: The Court Registry has released the vacation sitting schedule of the Madras High Court, which closes for summer vacation from May 1 to June 12.

According to the notification, the vacation has been split into three parts. While the first part is from May 1 to 15, the second one is from May 16 to 29. The third part begins on May 30 and ends on June 12.

Justice P. Sathasivam (writ petitions, general miscellaneous, motor vehicles, education, mines and minerals and industries), Justice A. Kulasekaran (electricity board, land acquisition, tax, customs, forest, etc) and Justice M. Thanikachalam (bail, anticipatory bail, etc.) will be the vacation judges for the first part of the vacation.

The dates of sitting are as follows: May 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and June 7. The dates of filing are: May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 and June 6.

The notification for the Madurai Bench of the court will be issued separately by the Registrar (Administration) of the Madurai Bench.
