117 bags of PDS rice seized

CHENNAI:
The T. Nagar police seized 117 bags of ration rice, reportedly "purchased" from public distribution system shops. Two persons were arrested in this connection on Tuesday.
According to S. Murugan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, T. Nagar, following specific information, a house in Moosa Sait Street, T. Nagar, was raided around 8 p.m. Police said the rice was purchased by the arrested persons Jagan (25) of Washermanpet and Duraipandi (30) of Triplicane.
Even while the police were observing the house, a person came in a bicycle and unloaded a bag of rice at the house, he said.
The police have registered a case.
