Traffic diversion

The city police on Tuesday announced traffic diversion in view of the annual festival at the Dhandumariamman Temple on Avanashi Road on Wednesday.

All vehicles from the city bound for Athupalam, including those from the Avanashi Flyover and Trichy Road, would be diverted through Big Bazaar Street, Vincent Road and Ukkadam.

Those coming from Athupalam would have to take Oppanakara Street, Vysial Street, Sullivan Street and Gandhipark to reach various places. Vehicles from Perur should take the Perur Bypass Road, Ukkadam, Chetti Street and Sullivan Street to reach Gandhipark. Lorries and mini lorries from Athupalam would not be allowed to enter the city. These arrangements would be in force from 5 a.m. to noon.Devotees would take out a procession from Koniamman Temple on Big Bazaar Street at 6 a.m. and go through Town Hall, Oppanakara Street, Lingi Chetty Street, Milk Market, Brooke Bond Road, Murugan Theatre, Anuparpalayam Road, Dr. Nanjappa Road and reach Dhandumariamman Temple on Avanashi Road at noon.

Workshop

The Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology will organise a two-day workshop on `Campus Placement' in association with Bharathiar University on the university premises on April 28 and 29.
