CHENNAI: The new and enhanced Plus-Two syllabus of the State Board is now the focus of many sections — students, teachers, parents, administrators and trainers.
Entrance tests
The State Education department has come out with the improved syllabus mainly to toughen up the students, who are preparing to compete with their peers in other States in the all-India entrance tests for professional courses. It is no secret that a predominant section of parents and teachers wants their wards to take up engineering or medical professional courses, says Swaminathan K. of Aspire Learning Company. But before taking up the professional courses entrance examinations, students and parents wonder how is the new syllabus going to help them face future challenges, and how they are to cope with the enhanced syllabus content. To answer these queries, Aspire is organising a free seminar "Facing the New Syllabus" for students (science group) entering classes XI and XII and their parents in Chennai on April 30 evening at Karnataka Sangha School in north T.
