TI to set up HR coil project in Orissa

CHENNAI: In a top-level shuffle at the Murugappa Group, G. Ramprasad, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Parryware, has been moved to head TI Cycles of India.

K. R. Ranganathan, Head of sales and marketing, has been promoted as the new CEO of Parryware. Mr. Ranganathan has been with Parryware, a division of EID Parry, for over a decade now.

Mr. Ramprasad succeeds Mr. G. Hari at TI Cycles, a division of Tube Investments of India (TII). Mr. Hari, it is learnt, has been made President (New Products) at TII. Sources said these changes were routine. "They were more in the nature of providing growth opportunities," they added.

Mr. Ranganathan told The Hindu that his task would be to take the Parryware brand closer to consumers.

The top-level shuffle comes in the wake of a recent announcement made by TI to set up a green-field project for the manufacture of hot rolled steel coils with a capacity of three million tonnes annually at Duburi in Jajpur district of Orissa.

TII is envisaging an investment of around Rs. 3,400 crores in the first phase of the project.
