NEW DELHI: With the Opposition staying away from Parliament, the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh, on Wednesday urged the BJP to reconsider the three-day boycott decision since an important component of the Union budget was under discussion. Dr. Singh spoke to the Leaders of the Opposition, L.K. Advani and Jaswant Singh, and urged them to take part in the proceedings. The Lok Sabha Speaker, Somanth Chatterjee, also wrote a letter to Mr. Advani urging that the Opposition reconsider its stand. He said the Finance Bill could not be appropriately discussed in the absence of the Opposition.
