TNPCEE may go online
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
The Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examinations (TNPCEE) may soon go online if an Anna University proposal gets clearance and technology support.
E. Balagurusamy, Vice-Chancellor, the coordinating agency for conducting the TNPCEE, has set up an expert committee headed by the former Director of Technical Education, T.R. Natesan, to prepare guidelines for conducting the examinations online.
The Vice-Chancellor told newspersons on Wednesday that the growth in client/server technologies and penetration of computers in laboratories and affiliated colleges would help the university take the big step of introducing the entrance examination online. A question bank in the database can be used to generate question papers of specific length and required degree of difficulty, the Vice-Chancellor said.
The norms for TNPCEE online would be drafted by the Natesan committee which includes S.V. Raghavan, Professor of Computer Sciences, IIT-Madras and N. Madhusoodhanan, Director of Entrance Examination of Anna University.
